Michael R. “Mike” Shields, 53, Oblong, IL. passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at his residence in Oblong, IL. His death is under investigation by the Crawford County Coroner.
Mike was born on July 17, 1961 in Sullivan, IN. He was the son of Olaf Shields and Betty (Miller) Shields.
Mike was an oilfield pumper and he liked to hunt arrowheads and fish.
Mike is survived by two sons Cory Ray Shields of Oblong, IL and Aaron and Cassie Shields of Robinson, IL; three grandsons,; a nephew Jason Shields and several cousins.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jimmy “Flip” Wayne Shields.
